Things to do and see in Streaky Bay
Point Labatt Conservation Park (Sea-Lions)
Head out to Point Labatt for a bird’s eye view. Located on the rugged coastline south of Streaky Bay, this is a fantastic site for viewing Australian Sea-lions. See these fascinating animals in their natural habitat from a clifftop viewing platform.
Eyres Waterhole
In 1839, Edward John Eyre, the eminent explorer, established a base about 3kms from Streaky Bay. Edward Eyre used Streaky Bay as a depot for his overland explorations to Point Bell and in 1840 to Albany. This site became known as Eyres Waterhole, and it can still be seen today, just off the road to Port Kenny.
Bicycle and Walking Track
Enjoy the peace, tranquility and view as you walk or cycle along the bicycle and walking track that meanders along the Eyre Avenue Foreshore. Pass the C
caravan Park and all the way to the boat ramp, you would have completed trek of approximately 5 kilometres. On the way check out the history of Massas Bridge and see if you can spot the wildlife along the way – maybe take a break, sit back and enjoy the beautiful sight of the Streaky Bay township.
